2019 Cadillac Truck Escalade AWD V8-6.2L Diagnostic Instructions Page 157

6. Test for less then 1 ohm between the front end sensor signal circuit terminal 1 and the SDM terminal.

锟斤拷 If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.

7. Test for less then 1 ohm between the front end sensor low reference circuit terminal 2 and the SDM terminal.

锟斤拷 If greater than the specified range, test the circuit for an open/high resistance.

8. If the circuits test normal, replace the appropriate front end sensor.

9. Reconnect all SIR components. Ignition ON, with a scan tool clear and recheck for DTCs.

锟斤拷 If the front end sensor DTC returns and is current, replace the SDM.

Repair Instructions

* Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement (See: Restraints and Safety Systems/Air Bag Systems/Impact Sensor/Service and

Repair/Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement)

* SIR/SRS Wiring Repairs (See: Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/General Electrical Diagnostic

Procedures/Wiring Repairs/SIR/SRS Wiring Repairs)

* Control Module References (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for SDM replacement, setup, and programming

Repair Verification

Ignition ON, use the scan tool to clear the DTCs, then recheck for DTCs.

If DTC B0091 was current, replace the SDM.

Diagnostic Instructions

* Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Diagnostic System

Check - Vehicle) prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

* Review Strategy Based Diagnosis (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Strategy Based Diagnosis) for an

overview of the diagnostic approach.

* Diagnostic Procedure Instructions (See: Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Diagnostic Procedure

Instructions)provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

DTC Descriptor

DTC B101D XX

- ECU Hardware

Circuit/System Description

The internal fault detection is handled inside the control module. The symptom byte listed in the DTC Descriptor is for engineering reference only.

No external circuit diagnosis is involved.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The control module runs the program to detect an internal fault when power up is commanded. The only requirements are voltage and ground. This

program runs even if the voltage is out of the valid operating range.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The control module has detected an internal malfunction.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The control module refuses all additional inputs.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* A current DTC clears when the malfunction is no longer present.

* A history DTC clears when the control module ignition cycle counter reaches the reset threshold of 50, without a repeat of the malfunction.
