INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the transmitter IDs stored in the old ECU using the Techstream and note
them down before removal.
* It is necessary to perform the initialization See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Tire Monitoring
System/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Initialization (from 12/2010) after the registration See:
Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Tire Monitoring System/Testing and Inspection/Programming and
Relearning/Registration (from 12/2010) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU if the ECU and/or one of
the valve and transmitters have been replaced.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC (C2173/73)
(a) Make sure that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
(d) Turn the Techstream on.
(e) Read the DTCs. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Tire Pressure Monitor / Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC C2173/73 is not output.
NOTICE:
When DTC C2173/73 is output, troubleshoot that DTC first. Then troubleshoot DTCs C2121/21 to C2125/25.
NG -- GO TO DTC C2173/73 See: C Code Charts/C2173/Tire Pressure Monitoring (from 12/2010)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK FREQUENCY RECEIVING CONDITION
TOYOTA DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR, MAINTENANCE, PARTS AND LABOR, SHOP OPERATIONS, TECHNICIAN'S REFERENCE, DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES(dtc), RELAYS AND MODULES, SENSORS AND SWITCHES,ENGINE, COOLING AND EXHAUST, POWERTRAIN MANAGEMENT, TRANSMISSION AND DRIVETRAIN, BRAKES AND TRACTION CONTROL, STARTING AND CHARGING, POWER AND GROUND DISTRIBUTION, STEERING AND SUSPENSION, HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING, RESTRAINTS AND SAFETY SYSTEMS, ACCESSORIES AND OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT, BODY AND FRAME,CRUSIS CONTROL.
