INSPECTION PROCEDURE

* Perform the simulation method by selecting the "check mode" (signal check) with the Techstream See: Restraints and Safety

Systems/Air Bag Systems/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Check Mode Procedure.

* After selecting the "check mode" (signal check), perform the simulation method by wiggling each connector of the airbag

system or driving the vehicle on a city or rough road See: Restraints and Safety Systems/Air Bag Systems/Testing and

Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures/Check Mode Procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG SQUIB)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
